Sandestin Travel Guide
It’s no secret that my one of my favorite places to roadtrip is 30A! And if you are following me along on Instagram, you may have seen that Michael and I headed to Florida this month for one last beach vacation and summer hoorah!
On Friday after work, we hopped in the car and headed to the Sandestin area to stay at the lovely Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa! Florida’s Emerald Coast is one the BEST, so we were SO pleased with our gorgeous view from our room. I mean, hellllllo gorgeous blue ocean! Our room came equipped with a balcony view of the pool, the most comfy king bed and even two fun bunk beds!! How stinking cute?
The decor at the Hilton is breezy and fun. I spent a good hour touring the property - because there is so much to see! Multiple restaurants, an amazing spa, two gigantic outdoor pools (one indoor), a picnic shop with coffee and ice cream, a gift shop and so much more. Insider tip: hit up the Coffee Shop every morning, located off the main lobby, for some wake-me-up Starbucks® coffee and espresso drinks.
When we weren’t lounging by the pool or hanging in the ocean, we were out exploring all the best of 30A. 30A is comprised of a few cute towns - and our personal favorites are Sandestin, Alys Beach, and Seaside. All offer totally different vibes and charm!
Biking around Seaside is one of the best highlights of the trip. This cute, quaint town has all the colorful #happyhousedreams I could ever dream of. I even found the cutest and dreamiest pink cottage! When can I move in??!
We also went on a dolphin tour which was truly a treat! We probably saw over 30 dolphins and had a singalong to all the best throwbacks - like YMCA and Britney Spears.
Vacations are all about relaxing, so I highly recommend treating yourself to a facial at the Hilton Sandestin’s Serenity by the Sea Spa. I got the HydraFacial which was SO hydrating. I walked out feeling like a hundred bucks. Plus, I have super dry skin and dry skin + beach + sun = not happy Sophie. This was a much needed treatment!
As for the food in 30A - there are SO.MANY.OPTIONS! Our hotel had amazing dining options - like Hadashi Sushi Bar and Sandcastles Restaurant & Lounge. I was most excited for the oysters because Florida + sunshine + raw oysters = my heaven! When we wanted to explore town, we headed to the famous Red Bar in Grayton Beach for some delicious seafood and live music. Tip: Get there early or prepare to wait over an hour in line! Another fun dinner place is Rum Runners. Go there for there dueling piano matches - so fun! For oysters outside of the hotel, head to Grayton Beach and visit the famous Hurricane’s - and feast away. Bud and Alley’s was also a favorite - and be sure to get the frose!! YUMMY!
And we can’t forgot my favorite dessert place in Destin. Dippin’ Dots! Yes, they have a very own stand alone store with OVER THIRTY FLAVORS.
For all of you looking for the perfect Florida getaway, you have to visit Hilton Sandestin! We had the perfect trip - equipped with the perfect weather, delicious food and friendly staff. Enjoy!
