#MyHappyHouseDreams Reveal!
AHHHH - I could NOT be more excited about this blog post. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have heard that I bought a house!! I’ve sent the last two months or so renovating/fixing/working with contractors/picking out paint/finding furniture/learning about budgeting/and SO MUCH MORE. One of my first immediate projects for my house was a paint refresh - and I couldn’t be more excited to showcase my reveal! I partnered with Behr for both my interior and exterior paint job - and am in LOVE with how everything turned out.
To get things started, I’ll give you a preview of the house BEFORE I painted. It was a dark orange color and I reallllly wanted to lighten it up. I contemplated between painting the entire house pink (because, duh) or keeping it more neutral with bright pops of color. As you know, I am an HUGE advocate of color - but I also wanted to have a house that would appeal to lots of people because I plan on renting it out short-term. It still needed to have some hints of Sophie so I chose a bright white for the exterior and the most perfect blush pink for my front door.
I went to a salvage yard here in Atlanta and scored the cutest victorian-style door. I KNEW I needed it from the moment I saw it. I am using it as my screen door - and painted it, along with my front door, Behr’s Angel Kiss P160-1 color. It was the PERFECT accent to Behr’s Ultra Pure White. These two colors have made for my perfect little dollhouse. I have neighbors come up to me CONSTANTLY telling me how much they love my door; And I truly get giddy every time I walk in into my house because of the pink color door!
After I finished the exterior, it was time to tackle the interior of my house. The entire house was painted a muted light grey color, which I knew I had to change. It’s a small space (less than 1100 square feet), so I opted for Behr’s Polar Bear #75 in Satin for the entire house. Yes, I mean entire house! Here’s a photo of the interior before (ugh, bye bye grey):
And hellllllo white!
As you can see, the Polar Bear colors makes SUCH a difference and totally opens up the space. It looks SO. MUCH. BIGGER. and is a lot more airy. I couldn’t be more excited!!
One of my favorite projects of #myhappyhousedreams was installing a dutch door in my kitchen. When I tell you it’s been a dream of mine to have a dutch door for years, I am not exaggerating. Nothing makes me happier than dutch doors! I’m not the only crazy person here, right? So, when I started going over colors with Behr, I decided to go for a bold statement color: Buzz In P300-6.
This yellow is the PERFECT accent to my generally white kitchen. I utilized pops of colors with my appliances - like my pink fridge, teal microwave, and pink toaster - and didn’t want to overdue the pink and make it too feminine. Because of the house’s open concept layout, the yellow door is the first thing you see when you walk in - and I couldn’t be more in love.
I hope you all love my house as much as I do! I want to give a HUGE THANKS for Behr for helping make my house dreams a reality!
