Colorful Guide to Miami
If you were following along on Instagram, we were in Florida for a little vacation away from work to celebrate the July 4th holiday! Michael and I visit try to visit Miami at least twice a year because it’s super easy to get to from Atlanta and one of our favorite vacay spots EVER! Ever since we’ve been back, you guys have been asking for Miami recommendations! And guess what?!? I’ve rounded everything up in one big post, so you can figure out where to stay, what to do and my can’t-miss Miami destinations!
WHERE TO STAY
The Confidante
Michael and I stayed at The Confidante for our whole trip and it was AMAZING! I had heard of the hotel online because they have the most gorgeous beach loungers and umbrellas I ever did see – and trust me when I say it’s even dreamier in person!
But the loungers aren’t the only thing that’s dreamy about The Confidante. With its midcentury modern design and ideal oceanfront location, it truly makes for the best Miami Beach escape. We had an amazing view of the ocean (picture below) and with all the 1950s flair throughout the hotel, we were delightfully surprised at every corner of this property.
There are also two restaurants located in the hotel, Bird & Bone and TALDE. More about that a little down this post! And Nina’s House, a super fun and hip bar located by the Confidante’s pool area with the most delicious craft cocktails. And just like the rest of the hotel, their décor is perfection to the T! How cool is the neon sign below??
One of our hotel highlights over the weekend was when we got to pamper ourselves with massages at The Confidante’s amazing rooftop spa.
When on vacation, it’s always important to treat yourself to a little R&R. I learned that our hotel recently launched Spa Nights, which take place on the final Friday of the month and promote late night group spa sessions for friends to book appointments together while enjoying prosecco and their own soundtrack at the spa.
We got in late Friday and had to miss this fun event, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t make sure to get a little spa action during our stay. Michael opted for a Swedish Massage and I had my first ever Hot Stone Massage. I cannot rave about it enough! I highly recommend a spa treatment or the Spa Nights event to anyone visiting or living in Miami! Check out the view from the spa below:
And did I mention The Confidante also has the CUTEST poolside cabanas?
It’s truly a gem in South Beach. I highly recommend this lifestyle hotel to anyone visiting Miami and I can’t wait to be back the next time I come down to visit!
WHAT TO DO
South Beach
Miami has SO MUCH to do! We always stay in South Beach because it’s so fun to walk on the boardwalk or rent a bike to stroll around admiring all of the colorful lifeguard towers and art deco buildings.
Wynwood Walls
Wynwood Walls is one of my favorite places in visit. I’m not going to life, we come here at least two times per Miami trip because there is so much to do and see. Not only are there tons of amazing murals, there’s also really good food here.
Art Deco Tour
Miami is known for its amazing art deco buildings. There are walking tours but we love to rent a bike and cruise around the city, finding tons of art deco buildings. They are all so beautiful and colorful!
WHAT TO EAT
Bird & Bone
Bird & Bone is nestled on the first floor of The Confidante and features a menu that reflects the heart and soul of traditional country cuisine. You know I’m from the South, so any restaurant with country cuisine is the way to my heart!
We had the most delicious oysters, bone-in steak and kale Caesar salad for dinner. I’m still swooning over this meal today!
Zak the Baker
Pop in here while you are checking out Wynwood Walls. It smells amazing and has delicious treats to-go!
La Sandwicherie
We stumbled across this restaurant on our last trip to Miami and had to visit again during this visit. La Sandwicherie is a small French-owned eatery located in South Beach that sells the most delicious salads, smoothies and sandwiches. You won’t regret eating here!
